In a strategic move that further solidifies the state of Indiana’s place on the international stage of sustainable innovation, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) will continue to build its partnership with the Indiana-headquartered Andretti Formula E outfit in the upcoming FIA Formula E season. Since 2022, this collaborative venture has aimed to elevate global awareness of Indiana’s leadership in clean energy availability, entrepreneurial resources and innovative placemaking initiatives. Formula E, a trailblazer in leveraging sport for climate change advocacy, aligns seamlessly with Indiana’s commitment to advancing transformative ideas and solutions on the global stage.

A Platform for Success

The partnership’s significance is underscored by Formula E’s pioneering role as the first sport to achieve net-zero carbon status from inception and its alignment with nine of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Working in tandem, Andretti Formula E and the IEDC form a powerful alliance, showcasing the state of Indiana at iconic street circuits worldwide.

Indiana’s rich history in advanced energy storage, especially in electric and hybrid vehicle technology, adds depth to the partnership. From GM’s groundbreaking work in the 1990s to present-day collaborations fostering innovation, Indiana stands as a hub for cutting-edge developments in the automotive industry.

As evidenced by Andretti Formula E driver and reigning Driver World Champion Jake Dennis’ recent tour of Indianapolis, the partnership extends far behind the racing circuit. The collaboration exemplifies a commitment to bridging Indiana’s talent pipeline with technical roles within the state’s racing community while also positioning the state as a key player in the future of mobility and energy.

Embracing the Bold

In a visionary stride toward attracting high-tech industries to the state of Indiana, the IEDC recently launched its bold new branding initiative, ‘For the Bold’. This dynamic initiative aims to spotlight Indiana’s affordability, robust infrastructure and low cost of doing business, establishing the state as a haven for innovation and economic growth.

Replacing the previous slogan, ‘A state that works’, ‘For the Bold’ embodies Indiana’s commitment to being a strategic leader on the global stage. The rebranding is part of the IEDC’s transition from a ‘transactional’ to a ‘strategic’ organization coinciding with the IEDC’s pursuit of advanced manufacturing projects exceeding $50 billion in investments, fostering job creation in Central Indiana. The IEDC’s 2022 annual report reflects a record $22.2 billion in committed capital investments, signaling Indiana’s thriving role in shaping the economic landscape for a bold future.

Andretti Formula E kicks off Season 10 in Mexico City

As previously announced, the IEDC joins NAGASE Group, Prysmian Group and Crowe UK in returning to the Andretti Formula E partnership lineup for Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The portfolio of brands will be featured across the No. 1 and No. 17 Porsche 99X Electrics of reigning World Champion Jake Dennis and series race winner Norman Nato for the full season. Andretti Formula E will kick off Season 10 of the Formula E competition at the Mexico City E-Prix January 13.
