INDIANAPOLIS (March 20, 2024) – Andretti Global announced today that Zane Maloney and Jak Crawford have been named as Andretti Formula E’s representatives in the upcoming Season 10 rookie tests. Maloney, Andretti Formula E’s official reserve and development driver, will take part in the Free Practice 0 session at the 2024 Misano E-Prix in addition to the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test alongside Crawford, a fellow Formula 2 driver.

Maloney will make his fourth outing behind the wheel of Andretti Formula E’s Porsche 99X Electric at the 2024 Misano E-Prix, having already represented the team in Season 9 at the 2023 Berlin Rookie Test and the 2023 Rome E-Prix Free Practice 0 session as well as the Season 10 Pre-Season Test in Valencia. The first ever Formula 2 driver from Barbados was announced as Andretti Formula E’s official reserve and development driver in November of last year and has since provided strategic support for the team with simulator development work at the team’s Banbury headquarters. Maloney began his 2024 Formula 2 campaign in Bahrain last month where he claimed back-to-back victories and leads the driver’s standings.

Crawford, who will make his Formula E debut at the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test, has enjoyed a long history of on-track success starting in karts before making his car racing debut in Formula 4 in 2018. After two years in FIA Formula 3, Crawford was promoted to Formula 2 quickly becoming a race winner at the Sprint race in Austria in 2023. Recently announced to the Aston Martin Young Driver Development program, Crawford will be the seventh American to participate in an official Formula E session joining fellow countrymen Marco Andretti, Matthew Brabham, Scott Speed, Oliver Askew, Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood, all of whom were also fielded by the Indianapolis-based Andretti squad, the only team on the Formula E grid to have fielded American drivers since the series’ inception in 2014.

The 2024 Misano E-Prix Free Practice 0 session featuring Maloney will take place on April 12 followed by the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test on May 13, where both Maloney and Crawford will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills behind the wheel of the Gen3 car.

ZANE MALONEY, RESERVE AND DEVELOPMENT DRIVER, ANDRETTI FORMULA E

“I can’t wait to represent Andretti Formula E once again at both Misano and Berlin. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the team and thank them for all the trust they have put in me. It will be interesting to see how the development work I’ve contributed to behind the scenes translates to the actual car on track during both occasions I get to drive it.”

JAK CRAWFORD, ROOKIE TEST DRIVER, ANDRETTI FORMULA E

“I’m very excited to be joining Andretti for the Berlin Rookie Test. It’s an amazing opportunity for me to try out the Formula E Gen3 car for the very first time. It will be my first time driving a fully electric car as well, and I can’t wait to see what it’s like. Thanks to Andretti Formula E for the incredible opportunity.”
